I've purchased the eBooks on the Red Rocket USB Drive.  How do I use the USB drive?

1/ insert the Rocket USB into any USB port on your computer.

2/ open the folder to view the files on the Rocket USB. (on mac this is automatic, on windows pc you will see an "autoplay" window appear with options as follows.)

3. In the USB folder you will see 3 sub-folders and an htm file as below. Click to open the htm file: "eBooks_US_English.htm" (USA Customers) or "eBooks_Std_English.htm" (all others). It will open with your web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, etc.).

4. On first use, each computer must have DNL Reader installed. This is a small piece of software which allows you to open the eBook files.Click the link "Get DNL Reader" and follow the onscreen instructions to download the program. An internet connection is required for this step.

5. Once DNL Reader is installed it's a very simple process to click on each eBook cover to open it onscreen. (On Windows based pcs there is a pop up window that will appear which asks if you're sure you want to open the file - there is a check box which will tell it not to ask this question every time and once this is activated, the books will open very quickly.)

6. Navigate through the eBook using arrow keys on the keyboard or click the arrows onscreen with the mouse. The contents page has thumbnail covers of each title in the eBook which are hyperlinks to take you to the title when clicked on. If desired, turn on the auto-pageturn feature by right clicking anywhere on the eBook and choosing "set auto turn". Preset is 5 seconds or choose "manual" to enter any time interval.

How do I purchase the eBooks?

Each eBook contains 8 titles. The first title can be viewed free and the eBook is locked from the second title onwards. To onlock the remaining seven titles you need to purchase the eBook by visiting our website to order online or download an order form which can be faxed or posted to Flying Start Books. Following purchase you will be sent an activation code to enter and unlock the eBook/s you have purchased.
I've purchased the eBook and have received my Activation Code - how do I enter the code?

An Internet connection is required to unlock eBooks. Open the eBook you've purchased and turn to page two of the second title.

A pop-up window will appear named "DNL DRM ACTIVATION WIZARD". Choose the option "Start" then read the terms and conditions on the next screen. Choose "I agree" and then "Next".

Type your activation code in when promted and check the box "Activate on USB Memory Stick".

(Note: You must enter the exact code you have been supplied for that specific eBook - codes can't be used on another title.)


How do I get an activation code to unlock the rest of the e-book?
Click here to order online. An activation code for each E-book you purchase will be sent by email or fax.



I've saved the eBook on to my computer but now I want to put it on another computer.
Following download the eBooks can be saved in any location by right clicking and choosing the save option from the pop-up menu. Note that once the activation code has been entered the e-Book is locked to that computer and cannot be moved.
To open downloaded E-books on multiple computers either:
1/ Purchase the eBook on the Red Rocket USB Drive OR
2/ Purchase a copy for each computer you wish to use it on OR
3/ Save the eBook onto your own USB (Flash) Drive and select "unlock on usb" when first activating the eBook.



Is there a quicker way to download the eBooks?
YES! We recommend ordering your eBooks on the Red Rocket USB Drive. Delivery is by express courier and will take 2-5 days at most.

I have downloaded the eBook file but I can't open it?
When you open an eBook for the first time you also need to download the DNL eBook Reader software, a small program that is essential to view the eBooks. Click here to download DNL eBook Reader.



Are Red Rocket eBooks MAC compatible?
YES! Red Rocket eBooks are compatible on Mac OSX 10.4 or later for Intel processors.



I'm using Mac and having trouble getting DNL Reader to install. I chose the "install WINE" option but I'm receiving the pop-up windown shown below with the message "WINE cannot be found". What next?
Please click on the button "Install Wine" and continue to follow the steps until you see the pop-up window confirming that DNL Reader has successfully installed. 

If you have followed all of the above instructions to install DNL Reader to no avail, it is possible that your school's security system is blocking the installation of the application WINE which is required in order to correctly install DNL Reader and open our eBooks. Please see your school IT administrator and request assistance with the security settings.
